DH4 is an Interactive installation designed for getty college night 2017
DH4 allowed users to remix the Getty's extensive collection of open-source data using old-school Nintendo Controllers, hidden cameras, and tube tvs. By engaging with their own images and generated art, users were prompted to consider the inevitable connection between data artists and the visualizations they create. Juxtaposition between technologies old and new alluded to the past and future of data art.
An interactive collaboration with new media artist Victoria Wells, created for the Getty Museum's Getty College Night. Visitors used Nintendo controllers to remix data, images, and maps generated with the Getty Research Institute’s open-source resources to create their own video collages. Connecting functional datasets with striking visuals, DH4 blends play and pedagogy to transport users to the future-world of digital art history.
